About Becky Boyd & the Groove Train
Becky Boyd has been playing the Cleveland Ohio club scene for 40 years. Her outstanding vocals combine great tone, with tremendous feel. Besides singing with many bands throughout the years, Becky has opened for such noted artists as The Outlaws, Brownsville Station, Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Fairport Convention, Buddy Miles, Robert Lockwood Jr., Billy Branch, Walter Trout, Chad & Jeremy, Marshall Tucker Band, and did a small tour opening for Todd Rundgren. She has recorded 2 CDs with her previous band Real Life, and has done studio work with many Cleveland artists. Becky has been nominated several times as best vocalist in the Freetimes and Scene magazines. In 2010, Becky joined up with blues guitarist Tim Matson and competed in the Memphis Blues Challenge sponsored by the Cleveland Blues Society. They won in the solo/duo category and won the chance to compete against over 100 acts at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tenn., where they placed in the top 8, performing at the famous Orpheum Theatre.
